EASA – European Union Aviation Safety Agency has published Opinion 01-2020 on High-level regulatory framework for the U-space. Following the publication few days ago of the FAA UTM Conops v2.0, both in the EU and the USA important progress are made to define the architecture, requirements, procedures and services to be provided by a federated system of UTM service providers (USSP in Europe) allowing the deployment of automatized air traffic services. Next step: to see the outcome of the FAA NPRM on Remote Identification (RID) and the practical implementation of RID in Europe as soon as possible as defined in Regulation 2019-945 and future amendment.
